The Government of Ghana has strongly condemned a drone attack at Dubai International Airport that left two Ghanaian nationals injured on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, authorities confirmed that the two individuals sustained injuries during the incident but are currently receiving medical care.
Embassy Officials Visit Victims
Following the attack, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates led a delegation from the Ghana Embassy in Abu Dhabi together with officials from the Ghana Consulate in Dubai to visit the injured nationals in the hospital.
According to officials, the victims’ conditions have been described as non-critical, and both individuals are expected to make a full recovery.
Government Condemns Attack on Civilian Infrastructure
The Government of Ghana strongly condemned the attack, stating that any act that endangers civilians or targets critical infrastructure is unacceptable.
Authorities stressed that incidents such as this highlight the urgent need to safeguard international transportation hubs and civilian populations, particularly in regions with heavy global travel activity.

Diplomatic missions have also been directed to provide support and assistance to Ghanaian nationals who may require help following the incident.

The government has urged Ghanaians living or working in the Gulf region to remain vigilant and strictly follow safety guidance from Ghanaian diplomatic missions and local authorities.
Officials emphasized that protecting Ghanaian citizens abroad remains a top priority for the government.

The ministry also noted that Ghana is actively participating in discussions at the United Nations aimed at strengthening international frameworks for the protection of civilians from emerging threats such as drone attacks.
